ABOUT The ManI'm no hero, no philosopher, and I'm sure as hell no cowboy. I'm your everyday man that got tired of the same old wear and tear that life puts on our minds, bodies, and souls. For anyone out there who thinks their dreams will never come true, or if you've given up on them completely, I'm here for you. I have plenty of experience blaming others for my problems and sitting around waiting for things to come my way. They never do! Luckily I'm still alive to do something about it, and if you're reading this then you are to. So join me in the fight against merely getting by in life and I'll show you why it's all right to dream again.The PhilosophyRemember what it was like to be little? How everything seemed possible, and when we said we were going to grow up to be astronauts or basketball players, we really meant it? We all, at some point in our lives, lose that passion for life and let worrying about money and work get the best of us. Yes, we're being adults; we're being mature, but does all that worrying get us anywhere or does it get in the way of us enjoying life? I'm not saying to let go of all your worries completely, but leave your work at the office and your money concerns for when you're paying the bills. As for all that time you have left over, use it to the fullest. When we were little we couldn't wait to grow up so that all our dreams would finally come true. Guess what? You're finally all grown up, the hard part of fast fowarding your life is out of the way. Now all you have to do is regain your passion and dream like a kid again!

THE STATS: 3/10118) 12/10/2011: It seems like so many people these days don't understand the simplistic joy of cutting down your own Christmas tree. It was a great experience I had with my parents growing up, driving to the middle of nowhere to cut down a tree on our own. We all had our own definition of perfect, pleading our case that our choice was the best one. If you've never had the experience of cutting down your own tree, then you can't relate to the feeling you get when the light seems to shine on that one tree that you all finally agree is perfect. It was an experience that I wanted to share with someone and I finally got that opportunity this year. I took my city girl of a girlfriend out to the farm, and she had a blast. Who knows, maybe we've stumbled upon our first Christmas tradition.91) 12/10/2011: I was completely caught off guard when a girl asked me and my girlfriend if we could take a picture of her, her parents, and their tree. At this point I felt like I was cheating, had I made my bucket list to easy? Two things down in one day, I'd be done in no time if I kept up this pace. Perhaps too deep in thought, I hesitated too long, and my girlfriend stepped in and took the camera. I was about to chalk it up as a loss, when to my surprise, they pulled out another camera. Luck must have really wanted me to have this one. As me and my girlfriend snapped a couple pictures for a daughter's last Christmas with her parents before she was married off, I thought about the irony of it. The mark of their last Christmas tree marked our first.100) 12/24/2011: I wrote, and sang, a song for my girlfriend. It was honestly one of the most nerve-wracking moments in my life, but a moment neither one of us will forget. Did I mention the song was how I proposed? Like I said, I was pretty nervous. Luckily, she said yes, and my girlfriend became my fiancé, and I took one step closer to getting married.

My Blog Spot

Ready to start kickin' it? Start by putting it in ink and making a bucket list of your own. Be true to yourself and write down what you feel. If you're not a thrill seeker, then bungee jumping or skydiving shouldn't be on your list. It's all right to search the internet for ideas but that doesn't mean all of them are right for you. If you fill your list with things you honestly can't see yourself ever doing...the chances are that you never will do them. Don't set yourself up for failure like that! Already have your bucket list? Start small and work your way up to the big stuff, like becoming president one day. Even professional basketball players need to hit some free throws and layups to build their confidence before they start taking some threes again. Not everything on your list is going to be a life changer, like owning your own business, but every act will build the character of the person you see yourself being. You never know, helping out at a local charity might teach you the leadership skills that you need to run that business one day. Keep your eyes open for opportunities and the next time you see a kid who got a football stuck in a tree, help them out then proudly mark helping someone off your list! Should you make a timeline for your list? It's good to set goals and have an idea of when you want to accomplish them, but don't be too hard on yourself if you don't meet your timeline. Things come up, life happens, all we can do is adapt. Also, understand that we all change and so will your goals. Maybe you always wanted to move to Australia, but having a girlfriend who's skeptical of moving away from her parents is giving you second thoughts. A goal you thought was going to happen in a few years might not happen until retirement, or it may never happen at all. Remember, your bucket list isn't the be all end all; rather, a fun way to motivate yourself. However, if setting a timeline for certain things helps motivate you a little more then go for it. Never lose sight of what we're all really in it for, the pursuit of happiness. Is it all right to add to my bucket list? Yes. Simple questions evoke simple answers. A bucket list isn't meant to be set in stone.Rather, it's a constant body of work. It's not over until it's over, and you kick the bucket. Until that day, as long as you're still dreaming, then you're still living.
